A Pilot Study
About Andrew
Andrew is an author and educator. His first creative nonfiction memoir, Reflections of a Loving Partner: Caregiving at the End of Life was awarded a Gold Benjamin Franklin Award from the Independent Book Publisher’s Association. After a lifetime in New England and more recently Austin, Texas, he now enjoys living in Antigua, Guatemala and is working on his next memoir. He shares his life with his husband, Lev Baesh. In his downtime, he enjoys studying Spanish and playing Mahjongg.
Professional Profile
Dr. Martin’s nursing career began in hospice and palliative care in 2001, followed by HIV/AIDS care, and ended teaching the next generation of nurse practitioner/doctoral students. He taught as both face-to-face and online faculty at various colleges since 2008. His final professional role as nurse educator was Tenured Associate Professor in the online Nursing Doctoral Program at Regis College, Weston, MA. Currently, as a retired nurse, he shares his hospice/palliative care expertise as the facilitator of the monthly Death Café/Antigua meetings in Antigua, Guatemala.
